Abstract
The Sambut Silampari Dance is a traditional dance from Musi Rawas Regency which means a dance to welcome special guests. Those who use the slap property containing whiting as a symbol of respect for certain guests who come to Musi Rawas Regency. This dance is performed by 10 dancers consisting of 7 female dancers and 3 male dancers. The make-up in this dance uses corrective make-up. The clothes used are clothes brackets. This study aims to analyze the Sambut Silampari dance using a choreographic approach that emphasizes the analysis of form, technique, and content proposed by Y. Sumandiyo Hadi. The concepts of form, technique, and content are separated for the purpose of analyzing the choreography study. The three concepts cannot be separated, but in a choreographic study they can be analyzed separately. The concept of form is described using the principles of form including wholeness, variation, transition, repetition, series, and climax. The concept of technique is discussed about the technique of dancing in terms of attitude and motion. The concept of content, which explores the meaning of motion, space, and time as the basic elements of choreography, is also analyzed separately. The results of the choreographic analysis show that this dance has a duration of 6 minutes with the rhythm used including steady because there are not many changes to the rhythm of the gending. This dance has a simple movement motif but there are still variations. This simplicity can be seen from the many motion motifs that are performed repeatedly and together. The movements of all forms of the Sambut Silampari dance use a narrowed volume of motion and medium strength. The range of motion is wide such as facing forward, backward, right/left side, and the level of movement is medium and low. The tempo of the movement is medium and slow.
