Abstract

A marriage in Sasak ethnic categorized as a unique way. They believe on two systems, they are cross cousin system and parallel cousin system. A system of cross cousin is marrying the children of fathers sister or the children of mothers brother. Parallel cousin is marrying the children of fathers brother or the children of mothers sister. A marriage in Sasak ethnic, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara is named Sorong Serah Aji Krama. The language used is considered as Sasak language type one (the highest level) which is absorbed from Jawa Kuna language. The objective of this research is to describe the spoken and written discourse not only from the linguistics factor, but also from the non-linguistics one. The linguistics factor involves grammatical aspect such as reference, substitution, ellipsis and conjunction. The lexical aspect involves repetition, synonym, antonym, collocation, hyponymy, and equivalence. Besides, this research also concern on the non-linguistics factor such as the culture background, the discourse context, philosophic meaning, and others. The sampling data was taken last July 2013 by applying recording method whether it is audio and also the secondary data (text and references) of this research.
