Abstract

The creation of leather art with the title Devotion of Hanoman to Sri Rama in the Ramayana story contains a very deep message. It aims to introduce the public and art lovers by presenting the scene in the Ramayana story in the form of wall decoration. The approach method used in this work is Transformation theory and aesthetic theory, this theory is used as a reference in making works. While the method of creating works uses a three-stage, six-step method of the process of creating works of art from SP. Gustami. The stages are passed from the stages of preparation, incubation, illumination, to verification. The resulting works are six in the form of panel works, entitled (1) "Hanoman Ngabdi Sri Rama", (2) "Lompatan Hanoman", (3) "Nginjen ing Asokavana", (4) "Hanoman Kejiret Pusaka Astra", (5) "Hanoman Obong", (6) "Hanoman Sowan Kiskenda". This work contains pieces of scenes when Hanuman was doing devotion to Sri Rama in the form of wayang kulit purwa gagrag Yogyakarta.
