Abstract
Pemerintah Indonesia berusaha untuk mensukseskan Visit Indonesia Year 1991 ke negara-negara Pasific. Meski sampai bulan Maret 1991 jumlah wisatawan mancanegara yang berkunjung ke Yogyakarta masih belum menggembirakan, tetapi pada bulan April 1991 sudah mulai menampakkan hasilnya. Di negara yang sudah maju industri pariwisata di Perancis misalnya, istana-istana yang sudah mati dan tidak dihuni pun bisa berkembang sangat baik menjadi objek wisata yang sangat menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji promosi terhadap kesenian keraton Yogyakarta dalam menjaring jumlah wisatawan. Penelitian ini juga ingin membuktikan bahwa Keraton Yogyakarta mampu menjadi objek wisata budaya paling andal di DIY.
