Abstract

ABSTRACT The creation of this work was inspired by one of the endemic plants of Papua red fruit (kuansu) with the scientific name Pandanus Conoideus Lam, a type of pandanus-pandanan plant in the form of shrubs, shrubs or trees. This plant is a food ingredient that contains very high antioxidant compounds, namely tocopherol, alpha-tocopherol, and beta-carotene. The fruit is composed of thousands of seeds that are neatly lined up to form the skin of the fruit. Also, the authors are interested in the benefits of red fruit, namely as a natural dye, craft material, and as a medicinal plant for various types of diseases. The approach method used in the creation of this work is aesthetic approach and botanical science. While the creation method uses practical research methods (Practical Based Research). The embodiment technique applied as a whole tends to use a simple tapestry weaving technique with a combination of techniques such as macramé. The works produced from the creation of this Final Project are 5 two-dimensional fiber art works set on the wall (two dimensional work, wallpiece, or wall hanging). Each work has its own distinctive color and texture with its own uniqueness. It is hoped that this creation can be of benefit to art connoisseurs and society in general, and can contribute and creative discourse to society regarding alternatives to the development of creative and innovative crafts, especially in the world of structured textiles.
