Abstract
Naskah The Lover karya Harold Pinter berisi tentang kebosanan dalam rumah tangga sehingga akhirnya para kekasih mereka lahir dari pikiran masingmasing tokoh atas ketidakmampuannya dalam menghadapi kenyataan. Aktor menggunakan metode akting “The magic if” yang dimiliki oleh Stanislavsky. Metode Stanislavsky dipilih aktor untuk bisa meletakkan dirinya di tempat tokoh dan memiliki pengalaman-pengalaman psikologis si tokoh. Selain itu aktor bisa berimajinasi untuk tokoh Sarah. Imajinasi yang ada di dalam pikiran aktor merupakan observasi dari kehidupan nyata sehari-hari.
