Abstract

Genre game Survival Horror mulai mengalami kebangkitan kembali dengan hadirnya game game seperti The Evil Within, Outlast, dan kembalinya Resident Evil ke akar horrornya. Pada tugas akhir ini, akan dikupas apa saja elemen yang membuat genre game survival horror sebagai salah satu genre yang sangat digemari, walaupun yang disajikan adalah rasa takut dan insecurity, apa saja yang membuat sebuah game survival horror menjadi game yang seram, dan apa saja yang memperkuat esensi horror yang dirasakan pemain. Dengan gameplay yang simple, control yang mudah dimengerti dan penerapan elemen horror yang efektif tanpa menggunakan trik jumpscare, game ini akan mencoba mereplika dan menangkap apa yang membuat genre survival horror menjadi genre yang paling popular, serta menjadi usaha untuk mencakup lebih banyak pemain – pemain baru untuk mencoba genre game survival horror.
